A lone brunette sat out in the middle of the pitch. It was a common for her on Saturday and Sunday, her boring days. Early morning yoga was a favorite practice of Thera's. However, this particular morning, she was doing homework. The young witch had fallen behind a bit, giving up yoga this morning was a must. She had Quidditch practice later in the day anyway. She would get her work out then. Her quill paused its scratching as she paused to think about what to write next. Thera hated potions. She hated every class really. The girl wasn't what you'd call a social butterfly. She certainly didn't have any academic interests. She loathed the school, its location, its classes, and its inhabitants. There were no friends for her here. No one was worth the effort. Everyone was a bumbling idiot.
Of course, Thera wasn't always this was. When she was younger, the dark haired girl was overjoyed by people. She had loved making new friends. That all changed when she was home for the summer after her second year. Growing up, her father had always warned Thera and her older sister Della to tread carefully around the pond out back. The younger one always listened, she was afraid of water. Della, however, was more daring. One poorly placed step in the evening was all it took to send the thirteen year old tumbling into the water. She never had a chance after hitting her head on the way down. Thera's second eldest brother, Hecktor found Della's body the next morning.
Della's death shattered the twelve year old. She lost her sister, her best friend. Thera lost herself. She withdrew and began to despise everyone around her or came into contact with her. Now seventeen, the Greek witch was still on her own. Still hating everyone. She was lonelier than she was willing to admit on most days. It bugged her on occasion. However, on mornings like this, it was a blessing. She didn't have to think about getting back to the school at a certain time and everyone wondering where she was. Thera looked up and smiled slightly. The sun was coming up over the dunes and pyramids, filling the vast area with a warm, golden light. Taking a deep breath, she set her quill down and sat back. Thera cherished the early morning sun. It was far too hot later on in the day to get any good rays. The light flashed in her bright green eyes, making them twinkle. It would be a good day, she decided.

Nothing really seemed to interest the golden male: His cold-hearted nature was inherited and fueled by the hate he was taught and the torture he had endured. Even so, he did not release his might onto the strangers, now schoolmates, here that he had been spying on. Some of them smelled even of great fear, weakness, caused by some trauma or paranoia of some future trauma because of the blood crisis, while others couldn’t be fucking happier-and he was still trying to decipher how he would approach establishing himself at Heka’s. The natives here he believed weird, but different as they were, he was different too.
His mindless thinking had left him ghosting through the shadows at a silent but leisurely pace. He was an apparition to be questioned-that’s how he always started out. Though he came here quietly and lives here so,(at least for the past few weeks) his plans were far from peaceful. He had encountered an interesting female recently, and she seemed as good as any place to start for his corrosive plan. He still needed a larger force in the long run. He did not want or need a gang, and he did not want or need an army, but if he could corrupt the ones leading them then his entertainment would be fulfilled. On second thought, maybe this Dueling Club thing had potential after all.
He stopped then, turning his head upward and squinting at the sun in its early state; in the reflected sunlight, his whole appearance was thrown in bright wispy highlights and dark undertone shadows, making him look like some lost god of the north banished to the sands. With eyes as enigmatically glacial as ever, he burned down from the sky to the horizon, taking in the surroundings carefully. He seated very quietly in the open. He was not afraid of others and so did not feel the need to hide. Should somebody find his resting in the open a problem, they were gladly welcome to challenge him. At the thought of that, he grinned wickedly and let sickly snarl build in his throat. Primal in nature. Almost unhuman.
Basking in the sunlight, the tall Anubian was but a gleaming beast in serene repose. How much longer could he go on like this? How long would Sascha make him wait? Hell, he was driving himself insane with this inactivity, or the mind-numbing dullness that was a new school in his last year. He posed a threat for those who were smart to be wary, or an obstacle for those who did not. He had thinking back to the home that he had left. At the time, he was hurt, both physically and emotionally. He was taught to dismiss emotion, so the fact that he was hurt was embarrassing enough to pull his spirits down and turn him into a foul encounter. And then a flicker or unseen light drew his closed gaze in the direction of Thera—he hadn’t consciously sought after anyone using his legilimency, but in his current state he was susceptible to stronger thoughts- just enough to catch his attention, and for Athos, anything worth interest was an opportunity. His attention was no longer fully set on his surroundings, and his eyes were closed as he soaked up the warm morning before finally setting his sights on the girl.
Things would be simple now. All he had to do was walk over to her, and once he was close enough for it to register she was not only of his house but shared in his blood purity, a personal smirk played on his lips. He wouldn’t approach this as a charlatan for charms and dish out some guy-ish statement for flirtage, or so was the plan.Did you catch the sunrise?

Thera jumped slightly, hearing someone speak. In the past four years of doing this, no one had ever come out here. It annoyed her. This was her haven, her sanctuary. Who was this guy? How dare he speak to her? Glaring up, she was shocked to realize it was someone in her own house. What was his name...Thera gave up trying to remember. It didn't matter anyway. He wasn't anything to her. Just a housemate. Someone unworthy of effort. His question made her snort. What a stupid question. It made her roll her eyes. Instead of answering right away, she began to pack up her stuff. No point in being out here if someone else was. Once everything was closed and in her bag, the dark haired witch stood. "You don't catch sunrises. That is physically impossible. You watch them."
With that, she had started to walk off. Thera hoped he wouldn't follow. Guys bugged her. They all wanted one thing. Sure, her reputation didn't help but she didn't like how often the approached her about sex. She ignored most of them. Only coming back when it was convenient for her. Except for Caius of course, she had never been to bed with him. But that mother fucker was always there, every time she turned around. She was half surprised he didn't show up. God, she hated him. Hated him with a passion. Passing by her fellow Anubian, she took a chance to check him out. Thera slightly liked what she saw. Tall, muscular, handsome. If she liked people, she might have liked him. That wasn't the case though. Alas, she continued on. Ignoring him as she went.
Her mind went back to Caius. Goddamnit, she hated that. All it took was once and she would think about him for the rest of the day. So effing annoying. Why couldn't she just hate the guy in peace? Why did she have to think about him constantly. Shaking her head, Thera reached up to put her hair in a pony tail. Idiot, she mentally scolded.

It had been one of those days. A normal day so far anyway. Wake up early in the morning, get dressed, and head out of the school to go for a walk. The air wasn't to cold, and it wasn't boiling hot. He enjoyed that part of the day the most. When no one was awake to bother him. It was peaceful. He headed out of the school and looked to the horizon seeing the sun slowly creeping it's way up into the sky. He had a little while before the heat became unbearable. He started to walk around the grounds, eyes shut, not worried about running into anything just yet. He took a few deep breaths just reminiscing and thinking about his life, as he did every morning.
He lived a moderately happy life style when not at school. Upper Middle Class, not rich, but it was a possibility for his family. He had Two loving parents who worked their hardest, and gave him anything they could. He wasn't spoiled, but many people would argue that point. He had two dogs at home that he loved. A black lab named Onyx, and a doberman named Emmy, mostly after his last name Emidius. He had no siblings, and was fine with that, other than the fact he had no one to really talk to at home. When he had gotten into Heka, it was like a home away from home, he made friends quickly, and enemies. He had plenty of people to talk to, and relate with. Then there was this one girl, a girl from Anubis house, her name was Thera. She had caught his eye from the second he met her. They had both taken to hating each other, and it wasn't for any reason, they just didn't get along. Like Fire and Water, they didn't mix well. Of course he enjoyed all of this, it was his fun every day to argue with her, and just piss her off. Almost like a sport. On top of that, they were both on opposite quidditch teams, and constantly fighting it out. when ever the other team wins, either Thera or Caius would brag and boast about it for a week straight.
It was amusing to say the least. Even though she didn't think it was, he got a kick out of it. Of course he didn't truly hate her, or dislike her. He found her quite interesting, and an all around unique person. He liked her, but he would never admit this to anyone, not even to himself. He insults her, and makes fun of her, for being a whore, and just an all around bitch, he doubted that she liked him as well. He did what he did, as a kind of facade, not wanting to give his true feelings away. He kept those thoughts to the far reaches of his mind, where it would be near impossible for anyone to find unless they knew exactly what they were looking for.
He opened his eyes as he walked now, seeing the devil herself walking towards him, and away from the pitch. He grinned and looked at her, before speaking up. "Finish your whorish deeds down at the pitch already!?" He enjoyed insulting her at times, getting a reaction from her. But he also felt that slight ping of guilt in his heart every time he did. He had stopped right in her path, a big grin on his face, and his arms crossed. What kind of reaction was he going to get today? It was always a mystery with her, it goes be one with pure rage, or anger, one of slight sadness, or even a non-caring one. It was a game of chance with her, and he was always taking that chance.

His issue was one of unassuming misconduct, but to be treated as such by a simple girlish entity was enough to wring out his ire first before his intrigue—his fierce gaze observing her to see if she was truly as piqued about his arrival as she claimed to be, her mind’s thoughts registering with the easy coolness of his cold ability confirming as much-and more than he expected. She didn’t look at him as she packed up her things, but he curled his lip in some semblance of a royal entity's pout -- the sneer was well placed and the stark ivory of his perfect teeth seemed to glint with violent propensity. And then she rose, nowhere near his height, but that slight angle of her face made her eyes catch the sun in such a way that it brought him up short-stealing his focus. So green. So lively. There could be so much more in those depths—and he would find a way to—a way to what? He didn’t even know, such was his irrationality. He just knew he wouldn’t be done with her just because she would walk away. Her earlier smart ass comment registered once she was in fluid motion again, and he contemplated to the best of his abilities how to articulate his only somewhat formed opinion before giving up in pursuit of her, his lithe stride only bounds behind her. //notcreepyatall-herelemmewalkbehindyoubitch
The intensity of the emotions laced in her thoughts had him pretty much hooked, snorting after idiot--but all because of this Caius? Lucky guy. He was worth a passing glance and common scorn while this kid had her passionate hatred. But did he even know what he wanted? What happened? So pleasantries aren’t your thing. What is? Would she tell him? Sure she was brazen, but was she outright rude? And then as if she summoned the object of her current frustration—Caius came, and so he slowed. Would their reunion be wrung with roses? Judging from the provocation, he doubted it- but expected a more interesting turn of events. He could play.
Waiting for your turn Neith?

Thera was so certain she was about to escape, then she heard his voice. A voice that made her blood boil. That was worse than nails on a chalkboard. She looked up from the gold sand and glowered. There he was. Standing before her like some sort of god with his arms crossed and that annoying grin. Caius Emidius. Her number one enemy. Gods how she hated him. Her loathing for this boy ran deeper than anything ever had. All she wanted to do whenever she saw him was hit him. Hit the smug grin off his face. Maybe that would teach him. Maybe that would get him to stop showing up in her day to day activities. His greyish blue eyes bugged the hell out of her. Mainly because she found them so goddamn attractive. She noted how more blue than grey they were this morning, then cursed herself internally for noticing.
"Caius" was all the brunette said. Drawing herself to full height, which wasn't very tall at five foot four, she met his gaze. Her green eyes flared with anger. Thera had three options: one. deal with Caius, two. deal with Athos and three. start a fight between the two and bail. Quickly deciding three would be the most fun, she smirked. Looking back, she smiled charmingly at Athos. "My apologies. We're in the same house right? It's...A-Athos? I'm Thera." For some reason, whenever Thera took her attention away from Caius, he got irate. She figured flirting with another guy, and from her house, a rival house, would be a good way to ruffle the Neith's feathers. When Athos asked if Caius was waiting for his turn, she smiled more. "No..." she started, looking back at the annoyance in front of her, "he never gets a turn with me. He doesn't have what it takes." Oh gods this would be fun. Mocking his manhood in front of another guy? "If you know what I mean." She was awful.
Thera briefly wondered what Caius would do to get back at her. She didn't care, at least that was what she told herself. If he ever found out that it actually hurt when he mocked her, ridiculed her, Thera would never hear the end of it. It would certainly be the end of her. Truthfully, she loved these confrontations with him.It was the only actual contact she had with him. With anyone really. If he wasn't so goddamn irritating, she might have considered him a friend.

His grin widened upon seeing her reaction to him being there. He took a few steps closers arms crossed. He had not noticed the other person, until he had spoken up. He looked over at the second Anubis and narrowed his eyes for a moment. Who was he, where did he come from, and what did he want with Thera? Question after question suddenly forming in his mind. His gaze had gone back to Thera who had now spoken his name, and met his gaze. He stared into her eyes, almost as if staring into her soul, an endless abyss. He still had that smug grin upon his face, waiting for her reaction. He had all but ignored the new guy, still unsure of what his intentions were. Good or Bad, he knew that he wouldn't like him from the start, and not because he was from Anubis house either.
He kept his arms crossed and raised an eyebrow when she looked towards him. Athos was his name. He'd remember that for future references. His grin faded into a cold hard stare between Thera and Athos. He clenched his teeth shut listening to her speak to Athos....was she flirting with him in a way, AND insulting his own manhood. His gaze became colder and his arms uncrossed and he opened his mouth to speak. "Why would I want a go at this poor excuse for a woman. Who knows how many diseases she's contracted in her time on this earth." He looked to Athos with a smirk on his face. "and if I were you, Athos, I'd stay away from that disease trap. You never know what you could catch just from being two inches from her." She wanted to insult his manhood, he was going to make sure she was hurting in the end. He knew his words held weight when speaking to her, and he was going to make sure they hit her hard.
Thera and himself had a very interesting history. one that started back in their second year at Heka. Since that point they had been at each others throats, insults, threats, and even getting slightly physical with each other. It was all a game to Caius in the end. He knew how to make her tick, and how to push her buttons to make her snap. he was somewhat surprised that he wasn't killed by her yet. A miracle maybe, or possibly she enjoyed these encounters as well, and thought of them as much of a game as he did. In the end though, she was the one walking away from him, and he was left standing there. Some would call that a victory, but he saw it as a loss.
