HISTORY:
Rafael was born the second son in the Noriega family on November 1, 1986 The Day of the Dead which was considered a good omen, his brother Ramone was named after their father so they named Rafael after his Great Grand Father who died in World War Two. Growing up Rafe had a very happy childhood, playing in the vineyards of his fathers land and having private tutors when he wasn't in private school. From a very young age Rafael always knew he was different than the rest of his family. He could do things that his brother and sister couldn't, he could hover and move from one place to another in an instant. His sister thought it was cool, his brother didn't, his brother would get rather jealous, his best friend Antonio thought it was awesome and would ask Rafe to show him some cool new tricks.
Rafe's mother would coddle him whenever his brother would mention something strange happening around him, it was like she knew, so Ramone Jr. would try to get Rafe in trouble Athena would shoo Ramone away and give Rafe a special sweet drink that she said was imported from somewhere else. Rafe realized he enjoyed writing and reading and on his free time you could often find him under a tree reading a history book or writing up some story then reading it to Maria. When Rafael was ten he recieved a letter from an Academy, his father was concerned with money even though it wasn't really a problem since he was one of the wealthiest land owners in Barcelona. Athena then explained to Rafael and his father about Heka's Academy and how there was this whole other world that they didn't even know about. Ramone Sr. accepted the invitation with pride, proud that they had a wizard in the family, Ramone Jr. was jealous and it put a severe strain on their relationship for many years, Maria was envious but not hostile, and Antonio who was like Rafael's brother was more sad than anything because he wouldn't see his best friend every day. Rafael promised he would write him every day if he wished and Antonio felt better.
When Rafe arrived at Heka he was sorted into the house of Thoth for his intellect. He grinned and sat at the table and feasted drinking that special sweet drink that he learned was called Butterbeer and wrote his mother and father that very night telling them about the sorting process and he even managed to get a letter in for Antonio. Rafael shortly learned from his mother that being a muggleborn was frowned upon in the society so she told him to tell people that he was born a pureblood to a wealthy land owner in Spain and the Greek family of Lasalle. So after a short while of name throwing he was soon accepted as a pureblood elite.
His school life was relatively calm, he soon discovered his love for quidditch, learning the rules from his mother via letters, he learned about currency, different spells, and everything his mother could think of that was important to being a wizard. No one knew that he was a muggleborn, he knew all the important histories, he knew about Lord Voldemort and even the names of everyone in the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix, every summer he would be sent home with wonderful stories about the pyramids and his mother would help him with spells and potions. Sure she was a squib but she could do a little magic. His brother and sister would always ask about the school and his sister really wanted to go but she couldn’t because she didn’t get the magic gene, Ramone Jr. could care less about going to the school but still enjoyed all the treats that Rafe would bring home or send home for him.
Antonio was always excited to spend the summer with Rafe and Rafe even managed to take him to a quidditch tournament disguising him as a fellow student from another school who didn’t speak any language but Spanish. After years of coming home for a few months Antonio finally confessed that he was in love with Maria, Rafe consented to the relationship and when Rafe was 19 his best friend became his brother in law with the consent and arrangement between the two families. Rafe managed to escape a quidditch match he was supposed to be playing in to attend the wedding, that was when he received a letter from a fan, whom he had briefly known at Heka, Evalina Di Matteo who told him that she knew he was a muggle born and that he would need to be careful because he was a celebrity now.
He became very cautious afterwards, only writing his family instead of visiting them. He became a seeker at 17 for the Neo Olympian Quidditch team and played for about 10 years before retiring and taking up the position of Department Head of Magical Games and Sports. Shortly afterward he received a visitor, it was the new Head Master for the school who asked him to join the Warriors Order and try to become a spy for the Dark Riders. Rafael accepted, under the conditions that his family be hidden from the wizarding world as not to be discovered they also made up a story that Osiris was visiting to offer him the Flying Instructor Position since their old instructor had retired. Osiris agreed, shortly afterward he received another visitor, Auriel Attius who knew him as a pureblood celebrity with ties to the ministry and a way to recruit in the school since he was also the flying instructor and offered him a position in the Dark Riders, Rafael accepted the invitation and has been spying for the Warrior’s Order. He had been playing a pure blood for so long that its become second nature to him. He wrote his mother one last letter explaining that it wasn’t safe for them to talk and that he would send messages via Patronus if he needed to speak to her and that if she needed to speak to him to contact one of the wizards who protected her.
